Description: The goals of the course are (i) to familiarize the student with research activities in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and (ii) to provide experience in the acquisition, presentation, and interpretation of experimental data. An important segment of the course is the cultivation of effective written and graphical communication.

Laboratory reports: Reports are due in the hands of the individual faculty lab coördinator as specified by that person; typically it is one week after the laboratory session is held. Report grades will be reduced if the reports are late. Since the laboratory segment constitutes a substantial portion of the course, it is recommended that attention be directed toward the preparation of clear, understandable reports.
